Man Will Make History By Riding A Waverunner Non Stop Over 10,000 Miles, Live On The Waverunner For Over 8 Weeks To Break A World Record And Feed Hungry Children
SAN DIEGO / EWORLDWIRE / July 14, 2003 --- Hoby Paulk, 44, father of 3 will
be attempting to break a world record by riding a Yamaha waverunner for over 10,000
miles in the Pacific Ocean launching from San Diego on July 18, 2003.
Paulk will not get off of the waverunner- he will eat, sleep and ride on the waverunner
until he has broken the record. He will not touch ground until he has reached his
goal.
Paulk an advocate for children- will be riding for Feed The Children- a non-profit
organization that helps feed and care for hungry kids around the world. Paulk is
already well known for his previous waverunner events- last summer he lived on the
wave runner for 14 days in San Diego and he repeated the effort for 7 nights at
Trump Marina in New Jersey in the cool - rainy weather of Sept.
What makes this event even more special is Hoby’s disabled web designer and long
time friend, Ryan Hudson Peralta, will accompany Paulk. Ryan will be making a 30-mile
waverunner ride from Newport Beach to Catalina Island. Ryan’s ride is special because
Ryan is doing this even with his disability of having no hands, short arms, and
short legs. Ryan was born with a genetic defect- but he feels that there are children
worldwide that are in a worse position than he is, and he wanted to help!
ABOUT THE RIDE
THE EVENT: Hoby will be riding a waverunner 10,000 miles non-stop happening July
18 -
Hoby will ride, sleep, & eat, on the WaveRunner only stopping for fuel.
Ryan’s ride will take place a few days after Hoby’s journey begins. They will meet
in Newport Beach. Ryan will start his 30-mile ride on his own unmodified waverunner.
THE TEAM: Hoby Paulk is a waverunner expert, with over 10,000 hours of lifetime
riding experience.
Ryan Hudson Peralta is a disabled aspiring motivational speaker with the drive to
show people they can do anything they put their minds to.
